The Story.

My name is Minda + I'm a brain AVM, brain aneurysm, and stroke survivor. I suffered from a rare condition, called an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) on the left side of my brain. It ruptured on February 17th, 2020.

A brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain.  When my AVM ruptured, I experienced severe headache, vomiting, and paralysis in both of my legs.

I had frontoparietal intraparenchymal hemorrhaging (stroke) which affected the use of my right side. A hole was drilled in my skull and a drain was inserted to relieve pressure. A pre-op endovascular embolization was completed and the AVM was removed in a left parietal resection (surgery) about a week later. At the time, I’d lost my ability to walk, BUT GOD!!!

I have since, regained my ability to walk with only some deficits in balance, vision, and short-term memory.

His miracles are marvelous, more than we can count. (Job 5:9)

God has truly seen me through this event, and I am stronger and better than I've ever been. I want to let others know that no matter what you've been through or are going through, God will walk with you + help you find peace in the midst of your greatest storm.

If you are reading this, know that you are loved, blessed + highly favored!!! 🙏🏾❤

This is beautiful! And what a lovely family you have. What a fighter you are and I love your strength. I’m so happy that God got you through this and that you will continue on being a light and symbol of strength, positivity and a testament for so many. And I think someone was cutting onions in here while I was watching your sweet video. 😢 May God continue to bless you and your family. 😊
